It typically refers to the area where laundry is washed and dried, often located in the basement or away from guests’ view in a hotel. The level of cleanliness and hygiene in this area serves as a benchmark for ensuring the health and quality standards of the hotel, contributing to guest satisfaction. The laundry section includes industrial machines where items from hotel rooms are sorted, washed, ironed, and packaged. In luxury hotels, in addition to hotel-related fabrics, outerwear of guests is also accepted for cleaning. Each machine is managed by staff, and all hotels have a designated internal extension for direct communication with this department. The laundry department’s tasks include:
• Washing bed linens, bedspreads, curtains, blankets, towels, and tablecloths.
• Cleaning restaurant linens and other textiles.
• Laundering staff uniforms.
