Five-star hotels offer more services and amenities than four-star hotels. Some of the criteria for five-star hotels include:
• Having a common sitting room with a capacity of at least one-third of the total number of guests is mandatory.
• Having a television in the lobby and also one in each room is mandatory.
• Having a parking area with a capacity of at least one-fourth of the total number of rooms is mandatory.
• Having a meeting hall with a capacity of at least 120 people is mandatory.
• Having a laundry room (Landry) and a motor room is mandatory.
• Having a refrigerator in each room and in-room refreshments is mandatory.
• Providing luggage storage for guests is mandatory.
• Offering transportation services within the hotel is mandatory.
• Having accounting and amenities rooms is mandatory.
• Having a telephone in each room is mandatory.
• Having 24-hour security personnel is mandatory.
• Suites are also required.
• Rooms must have proper ventilation, heating, and cooling.
• At least 30% of the total guest rooms should be designed for double occupancy.
• The minimum restroom area should be 4 square meters.
• The minimum restaurant area should be 140 square meters.
• The minimum lobby area should be 150 square meters.
• The minimum room size should be 16 square meters.
• There should be a minimum of 100 rooms.
